Bluewater Cycling Oraganization: A Legacy of Cycling Excellence and Community Growth

The Bluewater Cycling Organization (BCO) is a not-for-profit corporation born from the success of the Bluewater International Granfondo (BIG) which was founded in 2016 by cyclists Ken MacAlpine, Kathy Johnson, and Jon Palumbo. BIG quickly became a cornerstone of the local cycling community, inspiring BCO’s mission to expand cycling opportunities, foster community engagement, and promote active living throughout Lambton County.

BCO promotes cycling as a pathway to healthier lifestyles and stronger community connections, driven by the passion of our dedicated volunteer committees and event volunteers. Alongside organizing cycling events, BCO provides significant financial donations to local organizations that share our values—especially those advancing palliative care, health promotion, and active living.

Our vision is a healthier, more active, and more connected community, empowered by the physical, mental, and social benefits of cycling.
